Keep calm and bake!
My second hobby would be baking! During my free time, I would study on recipes and watching cooking channel on YouTube.
I purchase this cake mix last few months but totally forgot it because it hides deepest in my cupboard, guess I need to organize my cupboard tomorrow.
I always love Dr.Oetker's recipe, it is really easy to make. For wet ingredient, all I need is 4 eggs, and 150 gram of melted butter.
Pour the bag of dry ingredient in to a large bowl.
Mix all wet ingredients and beat it until it is fluffy.
The cake mix itself comes with a chocolate powder, all I need to do is take a few spoons of cake batter and mix with chocolate powder. After that, pour the chocolate mix into the batter then create marble effect using chopsticks, just swirl around the cake batter.
Pre-heat oven for 150c.
Bake for 60 minutes for 150C. Watch the cake slowly inflate!
It is done, look at the beautiful cracked surface! You'll know it's done when the sides of the cake is pulling away, or you can just any skewer or chopstick to test it out, it is simple; just insert into the center of the cake and pull out it should come out clean, leaving no streaks of batter.
I share this with my friends by packing it all into a small transparent gift bag. ( But then I totally forgot I should have take picture with it LOL!)
Her fringe is getting longer and recently, I love styling her fringe, thus I create a few hairstyles for her, perhaps I can get her braided next time!
Unfortunately she doesn't like to wear any accessories, she would just chew and bite all the accessories on her, and trying to tear of anything tied on her, I tried to get her to wear an angel's band so I could take her for a walk, she bites and stump her feet right immediately and wants me to take it off.
But at least I could now edit some ribbon on her to satisfy myself for not being able to let her wear accessories.
This is my baby eating in a turbo speed, while head tilted. ( I don't know why she always tilt her head when she's snacking)
By the way, I feel better now after been staying in hospital for medical observation. I will be back in next week, I have something new and I can't wait to share with you all!
See you next time!

You will never regret living this lifestyle!
Hey, how are you doing? It's been already 3AM midnight while I'm writing. I always wanted to sleep early and every morning keep telling myself "I must sleep early tonight!". I've tried a lot of therapy yet no hope.
I have caught flu few days ago, I went to get prescription from pharmacy but I never thought this could turn into my worse nightmare, medicine poisoning. I suffer from diarrhea but I'm glad I didn't get throw up or any other symptoms. I never knew this medicine could cause poisoning to me because I have taken that just last year and all went well.
Have you heard of Sakura Candy before? Not like any "sakura flavor candy" but this one is made from real sakura flakes. This one is CHERRY BLOSSOMS CANDY. It taste sweet at first but when you taste the cherry blossom you will get salty flavor.
This taste really good! If you haven't tried it before, then you should if you could buy it, it is a little pricey but it really worst I promise! It is around RM20 for around 20 drops which means RM1 you will get 1 drop of candy. I got this from ISETAN from KLCC, you should really check your local ISETAN. This would make a really great gift on spring!
If you ever follow my Instagram, you probably see my rainbow cup on stories. Here is a closer look!
THIS IS SO MAGICAL! A magical cup from stories I have heard of, something like when you pour water into this cup, rainbow will appear in front of it and you will be rewarded for such treasure.
However, you can only use it for warm water since it can only withstand 50C and below.
I don't know about others but every time when I drink water, I always open my eyes and look into the cup, watching the water slowly decrease. I think this is the most enjoyable moment for this cup, it is like drinking all that rainbow but without colorant added.
Other than that, this is also a great cup, not only for decorations but who says you can't have fun while drinking water?
Some tools are not left-handed friendly too, example like soup ladle, they always make a small liquid exit on left, which I think left-handed would totally ignores it.
Speaking of which, few days ago, I am holding my transport card with my left hand and wish to get pass a ticketing machine on right, so I end up like, hold my card on left hand, spin a circle and "beep" then get pass thru, but all the people around was looking at me strangely.
I remembered one time, I wanted to mark down some important sentences with my highlighter marker, which my left hand was blocking what I want to mark so no hope I will need to hold my marker far away from the sentence. But I am very grateful now because I find many stationary was left handed friendly now.
I love this highlighter marker because you can clearly see where you wanted to mark without any blockage, which was a great invention for left handed.
I am a left-handed so I always find writing is the least enjoyable time for me since I was a child, it's like staining all the ink on my hand, I can't write too fast or else the ink will stain but if I write slow I couldn't catch up with others.
As I grew, I learned Gothic font with this pen, I never thought calligraphy would be so enjoyable, gothic font takes longer time to write so when I finish one line, I could go on smoothly because all the ink dries up on first line.
I tried my best to memorized all the alphabets, now I could barely write without looking at all the steps.
I am writing a wedding wishes letter for one of my friend. I met her since I was 14 or so, she has been my secondary friend. She and her partner has been together since the year of 15 until now, we all have been impatiently waiting for this special day to arrive.
Then tie the letter with rope.
Lastly, wax stamp to seal the letter with my warmest regards.
I first melted a cube of red wax seal.
Pour onto the center.
I melted another wax, in golden color. Mix with a little red.
Pour onto letter and quickly press the stamp on.
Wait for around 20 seconds for cooling before pulling up the stamp.
I will practice more on pouring the wax since this is not really perfect shape.
And all done! I hope she likes my letter, best wishes to my dearest friend.
These are all my April favorites. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
My head says go to the gym, my heart says eat more ice cream!
That's right! There was some moment I care nothing about my calories, I just want to dive into the world of desserts. While browsing thru Youtube, Gemma's tutorial "Homemade Ice Cream with only 2 Ingredients" just pop right out, I watched it and I tell myself OMG I HAVE TO MAKE IT TOO!
I am always a big fan of her, I have tried many recipe from her baking tutorials, it's is so easy to understand and never fails!
Before starting, I just want to quickly show you my phone case, isn't it lovely? I love to dress up my phone case very often and this one I got from Taobao but sadly they discontinued this model. If you are curious about my nails, they are from Madam Glam!
Use code WY30 for 30% off!
My pretty red nails were from MadamGlam, in shade of Voulez-Vous?
They were actually chameleons gel, it change colors when it meets cold or warmer temperature. It can lasts up to month and very pigmented upon first layer.
Let's get into ice-cream making now!
You can read Bigger Bolder Baking for full details of ingredients and recipes for different flavors.
I gathered all the ingredients by hitting my local groceries market, all you need is 400ml of sweetened condensed milk, place sweetened condensed milk in the fridge to keep cold.
I use F&N and I think I should probably go for fat-free next time because it will reduced the sweetness.
Next ingredient is 450ml of whipping cream, I use Anchor's but I find it's a little bit pricey than regular one! This one comes in 250ml per pack so I have to bought two.
Beat whipping cream on mixer until stiff peaks form.
Turn down the speed of mixer and pour the condensed milk into the whipped cream. Then, whip until the mixture is thick and to stiff peaks. That's all as an base for the ice cream. It taste awfully good and I swear I could eat them just like this!
Meanwhile waiting for it to whip, I prepared fresh strawberries and blueberries. Owww I love strawberry, I just love fresh fruits.
I blend it all together in a fruit blender to make 1/2 cup of strawberry & blueberry puree. They look alike my nail color!
Pour into the base of ice-cream.
Starts creating marble effect by swirling around using chopsticks.
When it's done, just pour into a paper cup.
I added some blueberries on top as a decorations.
Cutting square baking sheet and wrap it with elastic band then cover with hemp rope I bought from Daiso.
Fridge in freezer for few hours, and it's time for decorations.
I wish to decorates it into zakka (雑貨) style, so I used hemp rope to tight vertically.
Cut off excess.
I got this melting wax set from HERE, I had cut my seal wax stripes into little cubes for easier melting. I bought this while there's a huge sale on their webpage, I choose light pink, deep red, and golden for my wax and alphabet W as my stamp.
Hopefully next time when I finished my seal wax I would get it in smaller cubes which I wouldn't need to cut, something like THIS (image above).
After cutting into smaller cubes, I place and let it melt slowly with tea candle. This is the part I enjoyed the most, watching wax melts and think of nothing by staring into the light.
By the way did you noticed how much have my nail growth with that nail color? It's been 2 or more weeks since I apply my chameleons gel, I think I should have get my manicure done very soon but it just stays like it doesn't wanna leave it's blanket on morning!
It is melting!
When it turns liquefied, pour it onto the cup.
I think I shouldn't melt it too much or least wait for few second before I pour. It's too runny, my wax is running all around!
Quickly take my stamp and stamp on it.
Here is it!
Lastly, ice cream can be stored up to 2 weeks, but I could finish it in few days because it taste so good! I've mixed all the color of wax I have and created some unique stamp colors.
The chances of failing is almost impossible, you don't need to use any fire or heating machine (especially if you are afraid of fire like my sister, she doesn't even cook!), only if you don't have any electric mixer you could always beat with hand mixer.
With few ingredients and tools, it is a great gift to give to someone special, easy to make, and fun to share. You should definitely give it a try and create your own recipes! You can find all the flavors, full instructions and ingredients HERE on Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking.
Best time for ice cream is ALWAYS! Do you agree? (wink)
I am going to make some desserts this year on Valentine for my family, I got this handy pack of muffin mix from MUJI which included 20 muffin cups and 20 seal bags. I'm so relief it comes with a English intructions paper inside. Here is what included. Start with 2 eggs, 60ml of milk, 45ml of salad oil (I used olive oil). Break 2 eggs into big bowl, mix till even. Add milk, salad oil, whisk to mix lightly. Add muffin mix and mix all together until it gets creamy. Mix cocoa powder, small amount of chocolate chips with milk. Add 3/4 chocolate chips into muffin mix. Pour into bag and squeeze into molds. It says mix with bamboo skewer and make marble pattern but the lazy me just pour all chocolate mix and plain mix together into bag. Squeeze into the rest of the molds. I added some sprinkles on top but forgot to take photos, you can save some chocolate chips to use as topping. Preheat oven 180c for 10 minutes. Baked for 180c for 13~15 minutes, baking period differs depending on the oven model. ( I personally think that watching it become fluffer is one of the most fun part.) Remove from oven when it's done, let rest on cooling rack. Put them into a gift bag and seal the bag with tie. What do you think? I love baking so I enjoyed very much during the whole process.
Happy Valentine! I travel to Genting Highlands for a 2 days 1 night trip and I didn't expect they changed that much! I think my last memory was 1-year ago. Further than that, more and more shops were opened, because of that I spend much more than I expected to! They expanded a new shopping area, including this futuristic monitor. Friend of mine insist that she wants to take a ride on the new cable car. RM8/pax for normal car and RM50/pax for transparent glass floor car but we think it's too pricey for us so we just took the normal car. It is really sunny yet cold, so glad I did bring along my sunscreen. It was really amazing on how they invented the cable car. Having some KOBE Beef at KOBE GYU TAKUMI. OMG those beef is so juicy, so tender! Of course I would definitely go for Marry Brown every time I went to Genting, it is like a must place for me! LOL! It was quite just a short trip for me but I enjoyed so well.
Till then! |
